An introduction:

Hi everyone,

I’m Ali, originally from Sydney, but have been living in the UK for the last 7 years. I went for a working holiday, and just haven’t managed to make it back.

I started this journey way back in 2001.
I’d just started Uni and weighed in at 104kgs. I joined WW, and managed to lose 45kgs (getting down to 59kg at one stage), over 18 months.
Needless to say, after graduating Uni and getting a real job, I suddenly had money to burn.

The combination of morning teas at work, shift work, and suddenly having money to spend, I soon started to put on a kilo here and there.
At Uni I was free to skip a class and head to the gym, but once I started work, it was no longer possible to spend all my free hours at the gym.
I began to substitute the gym, for working life.

Fast forward 3 years later, and I found myself escaping the country in search of an adventure, weighing 80- 90kgs.

It’s true when they mention that Heathrow injection, I managed to put on a huge chunk of weight while travelling and living in the UK.
All these delicious new treats to try, and the beer, and the lack of exercise.

Socialising over here seems to revolve around the pub. With 90% of people heading to go to the pub after work most nights (they’re on every corner!)
I’ve been a yo-yo weight wise while I’ve been here, the travel pictures tell the tale!

I’ve just joined up to the cult that is 12WBT.

I joined, at the last minute, inspired by a friend’s public declaration on facebook!

I weighed in this morning, and it’s safe to say that I’ve been living in denial for way too many years.
I remember having a conversation with a fellow WW a few months after I got to goal back in 2002 after I’d put on a few kilo’s, and her saying ‘but you’ll never let yourself go back to the way things were will you?

I seem to remember saying ‘No Way!’ and yet here I am 10 years later, all that and more.
I feel disgusted with myself; and I have no one to blame but myself.

I think it’s high time I get my act together, and start sorting myself out.

Here’s to making positive changes!

Hoping you guys will help keep me accountable in the coming months
